The Maryborough Apple and Produce Festival is a three-day event held at the Maryborough Showgrounds in October. There are over 100 stalls selling local produce, crafts and food, there are live music performances by local artists, kids’ activities and even an apple bobbing competition.
Byron Bay Writers Festival
If you love books and want to hear some great writers talk about them, then Byron Bay Writers Festival is for you. The festival takes place at the end of May each year and features a variety of events, including talks by bestselling authors such as Jodi Picoult, Richard Ford and Benjamin Law.
The focus of this festival is on fiction writing but there are also sessions that focus on non-fiction topics such as politics or science. The Strawberry Fields Festival is an annual celebration of the arts held in Melbourne, Australia. The event also includes food stalls as well as live music performances by local musicians.
The festival runs over two weeks in June with an opening night party on June 1st followed by eleven days of exhibitions until June 12th when there will be another closing party at The Butterfly Club on Flinders Street West at 6pm where you can enjoy live music from some great acts like Michael Paynter or Amy Shark!
Surfers Paradise Street Spectacular
The Surfers Paradise Street Spectacular is a massive, family-friendly event that takes place over five days in the middle of February. The festival features live music and dance performances, food stalls and activities for kids (it’s free to get in).
The event takes place on Cavill Avenue between Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Kings Beach Road – so it’s easy to get there by public transport or car if you don’t want to walk from your accommodation!
